CPVV Code of Practice

The Victorian Commercial Passenger Vehicle Industry Code of Practice (the Code) provides information and guidance to industry about meeting regulatory requirements – in particular safety duties.

The Code is intended to be used by all safety duty holders and businesses to assist in providing commercial passenger vehicle services that are safe and comply with the commercial passenger vehicle industry legislative framework.

The Code has been developed in two parts.

Part 1: Risk Culture and Safety Management was finalised in July 2019 after consultation with industry stakeholders and is available below.

The Code Part 2

The Code Part 2 will provide practical advice to drivers, booking service providers, vehicle owners, and other parties who play a role in providing commercial passenger vehicle services.

We will be consulting with industry on the draft version of the Code Part 2 in late August.

Once the feedback has been considered, the Code will be submitted to the Minister of Public Transport in September for approval and then made available on our website.
