Surrender your Booking Service Provider registration

If you wish to surrender your Booking Service Provider (BSP) registration, please submit your request in writing to Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria (CPVV).

Requests can be submitted by email to registration@cpv.vic.gov.au

The request should be written and submitted by the responsible person on behalf of the BSP. Please include the BSP entity name, responsible person name, BSP registration number, business address and reason for the request, e.g. the entity is no longer active in the commercial passenger vehicle industry.

Your request will generally be processed within 5-10 business days and, unless you have specified another date in your written request and subject to the below, your registration will be surrendered effective immediately upon actioning your request.

We may impose conditions on your BSP registration before it can be surrendered, such as a requirement to notify relevant parties that you will no longer be registered as a BSP. You will be advised of any imposed conditions in writing and allowed an appropriate timeframe to meet the required conditions.

Confirmation your registration has been surrendered

Once processed you will receive written confirmation that your registration has been surrendered and the BSP name will no longer appear on the Public Register.

However, you will still need to comply with any on-going obligations under the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Industry Act 2017 and related regulations, including the requirement to keep specified records for a period of three (3) years from the date they were created.

Once your registration has been surrendered, you must not provide booking services, which include:

  • receiving requests from customers booking a commercial passenger vehicle service, or
  • arranging or accepting requests by, or on behalf of, commercial passenger vehicle drivers.

If you want to resume offering booking services again

If you wish to begin providing commercial passenger vehicle booking services after your BSP registration has been surrendered, you must apply for registration as a booking service provider again.
