4 August 2020: Information is now available on the Victorian Government's CPV industry support package.

3 August 2020: Following the Premier's announcement and the move to stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, commercial passenger vehicle services will remain available, but are only to be used to support access to permitted services and provide transport for permitted workers. We'll provide further details as they become available. Our FAQs are still being reviewed to reflect the changes. 30 July 2020: From 11.59pm Sunday 2 August 2020, all Victorians 12 years and older will be required to wear a face covering when leaving home. Information for CPV drivers, driving instructors, driving students and CPV passengers are in our FAQs.

23 July 2020: From 11.59pm Wednesday 22 July 2020, people 12 years and older living or travelling into metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire must wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four permitted reasons. There are exemptions for children under 12 years, individuals with breathing difficulties, and those who have physical conditions that make it difficult to wear a face covering. 19 July 2020: The Premier of Victoria has announced that from 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July, people in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire must wear masks or face coverings when leaving home. We will share more details when we can.

17 July 2020: Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is now asking people across regional Victoria to use masks or other face coverings when they can't maintain 1.5m physical distancing, which includes in most commercial passenger vehicles. The advice was already in place for metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. Find information on using face masks here.

11 July 2020: Victoria’s Chief Health Officer has updated his advice to recommend that anyone living in metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire wear a face covering or cloth mask when leaving home for one of the four permitted reasons – where it is not possible to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people. We have advice for CPV drivers and passengers as well as driving instructors and students in FAQs here.

10 July 2020: DHHS has advised that driving for practice is allowed with a driving instructor in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire. If you cannot maintain a 1.5m distance from your student you may choose to wear a face mask, here's how. You should continue the required hygiene and cleaning practices (see below) to prevent COVID-19 transmission. We will share more information as soon as we can.

7 July 2020: Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions from 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July 2020. Read more.
