Late Invoices Q&As

Drivers: Annual Fee Invoices

What is the annual driver accreditation fee invoice for?

An annual fee is payable each year to ensure your driver accreditation remains current. For details of current fees, see Fees and charges.

How much is the annual fee?

For details of current fees, see Fees and charges.

Why haven’t I received my annual driver accreditation invoice?

A lot has changed for the commercial passenger vehicle industry over the last 18 months and we had to make sure we had the right systems and processes to deliver those changes. This included improving the driver accreditation annual fee process. Now that this has occurred, we will resume invoicing from 1 May..

When will I receive my invoice?

We will begin sending driver accreditation invoices from 1 May.

If your invoice was late and should have been received between October 2018 and May 2019, you should receive it by 14 May.

If you don’t receive it by then, please contact us .

I have received my invoice. What do I do now?

You are required to pay the enclosed invoice by the due date and complete and submit a medical assessment.

Why must I submit a medical assessment?

Our role is to ensure all commercial passenger drivers in Victoria meet the national medical standards that assess your current fitness to drive commercially.

If you have a medical condition that may affect your ability to drive, you are required to complete (and pass) an annual medical assessment and, if required, provide relevant specialist reports.

If you don’t have a medical condition that may affect your ability to drive, you are required to complete (and pass) a medical assessment every three years.

What if I already submitted a medical assessment/specialist reports in the last three months? Do I need to submit another one?

No. CPVV wrote to several drivers directly requesting these assessments/specialist reports. If you have already provided us with yours, you don’t need to submit them again. You just need to pay your annual fee. If you don’t receive a new certificate within two weeks of your annual due date, please contact us.

How do I complete and submit my medical assessment?

You need to make a medical appointment and have the registered medical practitioner complete the medical assessment form, which is on the reverse side of your invoice. Your doctor will tell you if you need to also visit a specialist and provide reports.

Return the completed medical form (and reports) via mail to Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria, GPO Box 1716, Melbourne VIC 3001.

How do I pay my annual fee?

You can pay your annual accreditation fee using one of the four payment methods outlined on your invoice.

What happens if I don’t pay on time?

If the due date passes and we have not received payment, we will suspend or cancel your driver accreditation and notify you.

What do I do if my driver accreditation is cancelled?

If your driver accreditation is cancelled, and you wish to provide commercial passenger vehicle services after this, you will need to reapply for driver accreditation on our website (see Fees and charges for the current amount payable). You will need to wait until your application is processed before you start providing commercial passenger vehicle services again.

If my annual invoice was late, when will I receive next year’s invoice?

If your original accreditation anniversary date has passed (you were due to receive your annual invoice between October 2018 and May 2019), the due date of next year’s invoice will fall on your usual accreditation anniversary date.

If your invoice is on time, you will receive your next annual invoice this time next year.
